Williams’ performance is a decided failure for Roger Waters and his attempts to isolate Israel.

British pop, icon Robbie Williams, has arrived in Israel ahead of his concert in the country. In going ahead with the show, Williams has very publicly disregarded the boycott Israel movement, specifically Roger Waters.

Williams brought with him an entourage of 50 people, which includes his wife. He will perform on Saturday May 2nd in Tel Aviv’s Park Hayarkon. The 41 year old will be staying in Herzlya and will tour Jerusalem. The gates will open at Hayarkon Park at 8:30 PM. Israeli singer and actress Ninet Tayeb will be the opening act and perform at 8:30.

Williams is expected to take the stage at 9:30. The vocal Israel hater and former Pink Floyd front man Waters released an extremely harsh open letter in Salon earlier this week in which he tried to get Williams to join in his boycott of the Jewish State.

Waters wrote, “Dear Robbie, playing this concert on May 2 would be giving your tacit support to the deaths of over 500 Palestinian children last summer in Gaza, including the four soccer players on the beach in Gaza, and condoning the arrest and abuse of hundreds of Palestinian children each year living under Israeli occupation, as has been documented by UNICEF itself. “Your decision to play in Tel Aviv gives succor to Netanyahu and his regime, and endorses their deadly racist policies, ” he added. On behalf of all Israelis we welcome you Mr. Williams and thank you for performing here.
