Amy Schumer has formally declared 2015 to be “The Year of the Ass.” She made the declaration while appearing on Conan last week.
Women with big asses seem to be all the rage these days. Kim Kardashian has made a whole career out of having one and last summer she revealed it to bare the world. Niki Minaj is another women known mostly for her posterior. Her music videos seem to showcase the singer’s back side more than her songs.

Then, of course, there is Beyoncé Knowles who coined the term “Bootilicious.” And we all know by now what twerking is.
While some see this as an example of the empowerment of women – women taking charge of their own sexuality – others see it as demeaning to women.
Amy Schumer has made it a point to poke fun of and tear apart sexual stereotypes. She specifically cited Niki Minaj’s Anaconda music video as a starting point.
The comedian told Conan O’Brien, “I think that this is the year of the ass. All of a sudden, after the Anaconda Nicki Minaj music video and Iggy Izealea, people are getting on board with the ass — and you know, black guys have always had our back and been into ass, but now white guys are like ‘maybe I like ass.’”
Schumer’s hit comedy series “Inside Amy Schumer” will return for its third season on Comedy Central on April 21st. The promo for the new season shows Schumer poking fun at the whole issue of women’s asses. In it she faces the camera surrounded by a bunch of women with their buts to the camera who are wearing tight blue shorts.
