Gadot will portray Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. She also played Gisele Yashar on the Fast & Furious film franchise. Israeli director Shay Kanot, who worked with her on the film Kicking Out Shoshana, predicted in 2013 that Gadot would some day play Wonder Woman, and said he could “really see her” in the role, even before it was offered to her.

Last summer, Gadot sparked off controversy over a photo of herself and her three year old daughter lighting Shabbat candles during Operation Protective Edge. She wrote on her Facebook status, according to Haaretz that she was sending, “Love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts committed by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children.”
