Star of boy band Menudo and soloist with the 90s smash hit La Vida Loca may be teaming up with the X-Factor’s Simon Callow to put together the best 5 member Spanish speaking guys’ band, according to Classicalite. Lauren Silverman’s second half, Simon Callow, called up Ricky Martin and told him of his idea for a reality show that might have success comparable to Callow’s exploits, the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
The premise of the show will be to search for the best Spanish-speaking male singers all over the world to form a group that will be managed by Ricky Martin, and the program will be broadcast on the Univision channel. Martin told People that when Cowell phoned him with the idea, he looked forward to give other Latin singers the opportunity he didn’t have when starting out.

While Martin is a great admirer of Cowell’s he admitted that the brutal honesty the British talent judge displays on the show might be softened with Martin’s more nurturing style; “Simon is a brutally honest judge, which is very important, but I’m a little bit more nurturing, ” he told People. Currently, Cowell has a contract for the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent at least until 2016.
