Dubai: a fire broke out in one of the world’s highest residential buildings

Hundreds of people were evacuated tonight (Saturday) skyscraper “torch” in Dubai, one of the world’s highest residential buildings with 79 floors, following a major fire broke out there. Dubai police chief, General Khamis mater, said that it seems that the fire broke out due to an accident and there is concern that the criminal act.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out in a building which rises 336 meters spread due to strong winds, and flames were seen on both sides of the tower. The police chief said that four people suffered minor injuries. Large shutdown forces accompanied by more than ten fire engines arrived at the building fire, and the fire was extinguished within a few hours.
“Within half an hour the fire reached nearly 60 floors, my witness told NBC.” It seems that especially the outer apartments were damaged. “According to her, it seems that the fire started 50th floor.” This is an iconic building. People stood on the balconies around and watched, even though it was three in the morning, “she said.

Photos published on social networks were pieces of metal and glass that fell from the building in flames, and scattered in the surrounding streets to a distance of tens of meters. Police blocked the area to traffic and evacuated two other nearby buildings Arabian prince Marina district, where skyscrapers and many hotels.
