The Israeli startup Sol Chip, a producer of solar-energy powering of electronic and mobile devices and a portfolio company of The Trendlines Group, was selected from 180 Israeli start-ups as the winner of the “Most Innovative Israeli Start-Up” at iNNOVEX Disrupt 2015, held in Israel on February 3.
Winning international awards and competitions is not always enough. Sometimes a company needs a pat on the back from people in its home nation, even when it is from a small country like Israel.
Sol Chip boasts that its technology utilizes a low-cost manufacturing flow, thereby increasing overall efficiency and decreasing design complexity, while reducing operation costs by 60%.
iNNOVEX2015 is the annual event dedicated to technological innovation and innovative thinking in Israel. Its major goal is to stimulate Israeli innovation in various technological applications and to present the latest in cutting-edge technology. Only companies up to five years old are eligible to enter. The prestigious judging committee selected eight finalists to present their companies at the iNNOVEX Disrupt 2015 event, organized together with Google Israel.
Sol Chip was selected as overall winner of “the most innovative start-up company in Israel for 2015”. Sol Chip is a worldwide leading energy harvesting company that offers a unique maintenance-free Everlasting Light Battery and Internet of Things (IoT) communication platform.
Sol Chip’s IoT platform provides a low power communication module coupled with self-sustaining energy harvesting technology. The company states that its IoT platform reduces overall system operation costs by over 60% compared to any other alternatives currently on the market.
The company boasts that this win adds to its award-winning status. Sol Chip was also a finalist at ACE Awards 2014, Technical Development Award winner at the 2013 IDTechEx Energy Harvesting & Storage and Wireless Sensor Networks Event, and was the Best Start-Up of 2012 from Israel’s Office of the Chief Scientist. As the winner of this award, Sol Chip is now under consideration for a $1 million raise through OurCrowd.
Shani Keysar, CEO and Co-founder of Sol Chip, said, “We are extremely proud and excited by this prestigious award and recognition of our innovative product. This remarkable achievement was made possible due to our leadership, teamwork, perseverance and commitment to be the best in our field.”
