Erin Heatherton is the first woman to be revealed as one of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Models. The 25 year old now joins the ranks of Jewish models like Bar Refaeli who have appeared in the iconic sports magazine’s annual special edition.
Raised in a Jewish family in Skokie Illinois, Heatherton is probably the only Victoria Secret model to have attended a Solomon Schechter day school as a child.

The magazine has declared her its number one rookie this year.
For forty years Sports Illustrated has entertained men around the world with its swimsuit issue. Not that it has anything to do with sports. The idea was to give American men something to keep them busy during the two month gap between the Super Bowl and the start of baseball season.
The issue has made stars of women such as Christie Brinkley, Tyra Banks, Elle McPherson and of course Bar Refaeli. But many women see it as nothing more than a shameless and sexist exploitation of their gender.
Heatherton told Sports Illustrated, “I played basketball my whole life — AAU, high school — and I was a power forward, No. 4. My dad’s whole thing was defense, getting rebounds. He wanted me to be Dennis Rodman. I’m 5’11” and not the biggest person. I was more of a run-around, scrappy rebounder [like Bulls swingman] Jimmy Butler; he’s scrappy as hell.”
The model tweeted, “2015 is the best year! Still can’t believe @SI_Swimsuit let me be part of their hot mama family! #SISwim. The biggest thank you to @mj_day, @yutsai88, @ja_neyney and the entire #SISwim team for the most fun I’ve ever had at work!”
Some lucky guy will get to “cuddle” with her while watching the Super Bowl today. She also tweeted a picture of herself covered in a Chicago Bears blanket saying, “Big #SuperBowl weekend ahead = mid-week cuddle session thanks to my @TheNorthwest family! #MakeItOfficial.”
