Chelsea Handler Is in Israel, Met Former President Peres

Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler is now in Israel. She has already met Nobel Prize Laureate and former Israel president Shimon Peres.

While there is an almost 50 year age gap between them, pictures of the single Handler and the 91 year old widower Peres made it look like they would make a cute couple should the two ever get together.

The two released a video of their meeting in President Peres’ office where she tells him what an honor it is to meet Peres and he answers that for him it is not just an honor to meet her but a pleasure too.

“I like seeing all of the women who work here at your office. There’s women everywhere, ” Handler told Peres.

“Yes, I think they are the better side of humanity, ” answered Peres to which Handler agreed.

Peres told Ynet that Chelsea is certainly not a boring person. He explained that it may be boring being dead, but there is little point in being bored if you are still alive.

Chandler told Ynet that she thinks that Israelis are fun. “He was amazing, ” she said of Peres. “I was appreciative that he agreed to sit down with me.”

No Handler did not come to Israel as part of a narcissistic need to prove that her star power can somehow be used to bring peace to the Middle East as her fellow Jewish celebrities, like Jason Alexander, have done in the past. She is visiting the country for much more altruistic reasons.

The comedian performed at a fundraiser for the Tal Center at the Oncology Institute of Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, the largest hospital in the Middle East.

Earlier Handler made a visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. From there she posted a selfie on Twitter with the caption, “From the window…to the wall. Jerusalem is for lovers. Are you there Oprah? It’s me, chesty.”

In another posting she wrote, “Homelanding in my homeland. With my jugs in my jacket. #RESPECT.” This was perhaps a reference to the topless pictures which Handler posted on Instagram recently.
