The movies have countless sharks attack people in the city after somehow being sucked out of the ocean by a storm.

It would be nice if you could say that the Sharknado films are a case of something so bad that it is funny, even if unintentionally so. But no one can. And yet there has been a large enough audience for the first two films for the Syfy network to announce a third. Somehow 3.9 million people actually watched the second one making it the Syfy network’s most popular original movie ever.

Due to air in July Sharknado 3 will take place in Washington DC. The first was in Los Angeles and the second in NY. Those sharks do get around.

“Sharknado 3″ is a production of The Asylum.
