The episode sees Homer diagnosed with narcolepsy, but instead of returning home with his prescription medication he returns home drunk. He and Marge visit a marriage counselor and have a trial separation, during which Homer begins dating a 20-something. Dunham voiced Homer’s new squeeze, The Hollywood Reporter said.
The episode is based on a script written in 1990 by Girls executive producer Judd Apatow.
Simpsons Executive Producer Al Jean said that the character of Candace was tailor-made for Dunham, and she will even show some tattoos, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Top stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, George Clooney and Meryl Streep have also had guest stints on the Fox series that began in 1989, The Daily Mail said.
The Simpsons is the longest-running animated series in American TV history.
