Carrie Fisher to Present Mom Debbie Reynolds with SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

Carrie Fisher is going to present her own mother, legendary actress Debbie Reynolds, with a life time achievement award at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards. Fisher is the daughter of the late great Jewish actor Eddie Fisher who was married to Reynolds for four years in the 1950s.

Reynolds starred in more than 50 movies and appeared on more than 30 television programs. She even once had her own show which lasted for only one season.

The actress, whose career has spanned seven decades, is best known for starring opposite Gene Kelly in “Singing in the Rain, ” the Oscar winning film “How the West Was Won” and for her Oscar nominated performance in “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” which was about the sinking of the Titanic.

Carrie Fisher is a successful actress in her own having appeared in more than 70 films and television shows. She is obviously best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, but she has also appeared in such hits as “When Harry Met Sally” and “The Blues Brothers.”

The Sag Awards, which honor both television and movie actors, will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on January 25th and will be broadcast on both TBS and TNT.
