Piven’s character on the show, Ari Gold, was based on real life high power Hollywood agent Ariel “Ari” Emanuel, the brother of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Piven grew up in Illinois in a Reconstructionist Jewish household.

The trailer begins with Piven’s character upset about the new movie in which he invested going $15 million over budget. We then get to see Piven in therapy talking about his anger management issues just before he punches a picture frame breaking the glass.

Some notable facts about the film:

Super Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski, who had one Jewish grandparent, appears in it. So does Jewish actress Debbie Mazar.

Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, Mark Wahlberg (he plays himself) and Oscar nominee Gary Busey are all in it. The actor who is still known only for having been the kid in The Sixth Sense, Haley Joel Osment, will play Thornton’s son.
