“I’m so happy to be back in India, I came here two and a half years ago. That was the very beginning, I didn’t even know whether people will be liking the music or not. But since then I’ve seen all these music festivals exploding in India and EDM (Electronic Dance Music) has become such a big hit here. This is so amazing and I feel really excited to be back, ” Guetta said.

The December 19 concert was the opening show of the “David Guetta India Tour 2014, ” which will be followed by performances in Pune and Bangalore.

The crowd roared as Guetta performed his tracks “Good to be bad” and “Shot me down.” In a surprise for his Indian fans, Guetta also performed a remix of “Numb” by the American Rock band Linkin Park, the report said.

India’s Zee news said on December 21 that the popular DJ feels that electronic dance music has evolved in India over the last couple of years.

Guetta is visiting the subcontinent to promote his sixth studio album “Listen” which was released last month worldwide.

“It’s a magical country. The dance music scene has really escalated to a different extent after my debut visit and I’m very excited to see it. Dance music is the next thing for the next 10 years. There’s only moving ahead now, ” Guetta said.

The DJ added that his love of the Indian audience brought him back to the country, which he first visited in 2012.

“The main attraction of India is that the audience here is extremely warm and the emotional…DJs generally opt for United States or Ibiza as they have big music markets. But I wanted to come to India too, ” he said.

The Grammy-winning singer’s latest album “Listen” has five tracks including collaboration between Guetta and other renowned singers including Nicki Minaj and John Legend, the report said.

The superstar DJ made $30 million this year, music website FDRMX said on December 20, adding that the thirteen highest paid DJs in the world earned $268 million in 2014, an 11% increase from 2013.
