Kate Hudson Trades Matt Bellamy for Derek Hough

Kate-Hudson-Zach-Braff-

Kate Hudson officially broke it off with Matt Bellamy last week after a three year engagement. The blonde bombshell actress is now said to be dating “Dancing with the Stars” alum Derek Hough, whom she began seeing before formally breaking it off with Bellamy.

Three years is a long time to be engaged so one wonders if that was not a sign that the couple was not really serious about getting married.

US Weekly cited a source close to Hudson as saying that she and Bellamy just had nothing in common. This in spite of the fact that they were together for more than three years.

According to the source, “Derek and Kate are better matched than Matt and Kate. They both like to dance, have fun and mess around. And that’s what the relationship is right now. Kate really likes Derek. Kate hooked up with Matt because he was a rock star in a hot band. But he was moody. She would call him a wet blanket. Things were bad. They were always on the verge of breaking up or getting back together. Other than liking music, they didn’t have anything in common. Kate loves being outdoors and being fit. Matt was always inside recording or jamming with friends.”

A spokesperson for Hudson acknowledged that she and Bellamy had actually been separated for some time but added that the two still remain close friends.
