Veteran late night television producer Nick Bernstein has been snagged by CBS to oversee its new version of Late Late Show which will now star James Corden, Variety has reported. He will be responsible for retooling Late Late Show.
His new job will be vice president of late night programming, West Coast, for both CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Studios. It is a newly created position in which Bernstein will report to both Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, president of CBS Television Studios.

Bernstein had worked on NBC’s late night lineup for ten years now, including the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan Obrien and Jimmy Fallon. He was VP of late night and primetime series at NBC Entertainment from August 2006 until October 2011.
“Nick is an outstanding addition as we get ready to launch two CBS-produced series in late night in 2015, ” said Stapf and Tassler in a joint statement. “We’re excited to draw upon his considerable experience and talents in late night as we gear up for the March 9 launch of James’ new show.”
Bernstein has also produced Last Call With Carson Daly and NBC’s late-night specials, including New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly, 50 Years Of NBC Late Night and documentaries Live From New York: The First 5 Years Of Saturday Night Live and Saturday Night Live in the 2000s.
His most recent position was as producer of “The Pete Holmes Show” which aired at midnight following “Conan on TBS.
