The James Beard Winner who beat Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America is opening a new brasserie in the Thompson Hotel on Miami Beach, as reported by Haute Living. Michelle Bernstein’s Seagrape will feature a diverse menu made with locally grown produce. One entree even includes ocean water.
Bernstein told Haute Living what makes an ideal brasserie: “For me, a brasserie is a restaurant that is not too formal and has no tablecloths, but has a great menu that changes every day. It is always buzzing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is usually a sort of organized chaos about it.” Seagrape’s decor is reminiscent of a 1950s hotel.
