Craig Robins, founder of the real estate firm Dacra, didn’t just revamp the Design District in Miami–he is making it a high-end fashion powerhouse, according t the Wall Street Journal. The Design District was lifeless before Robins revitalized it, and now he aims to open 50 stores in the next year. Louis Vitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford and many other recognizable names associated with consummate style will make the area a haven for luxury shoppers.
Robins also plans to make the area an aesthetic experience for pedestrians, with the artworks of Marc Newson, John Baldessari and architectural designs by Sou Fujimoto.
Robins has the experience and the track record to make his plans a reality. A Miami native, he transformed South Beach with Art Deco hotels in the 90s, helped with the launch of Art Basel and was a partner in the creation of the satellite fair, Design Miami.
