Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones Sell NY Home for $7.5 million

Hollywood power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have sold their home in Bedford New York for $7.5 million, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

That’s a bit less than the $8.1 Million that they had originally listed it for last summer.

Apparently the two no longer need the house since they just acquired a new and much larger one with 15, 000 square feet on more than 13 acres of land for $11.25 million. Their new house has eight bedrooms and 18 bathrooms.

Located in Westchester County, just north of the Bronx, Bedford is a small town nestled on the Connecticut border.

Built in the 1930s and located on Guard Hill Road the Colonial style painted brick two story house has 6, 600 square feet, is situated on 5.7 acres of land and is surrounded on three sides by a horse farm. It has a center hall with a sweeping staircase, a dining room with a bay window, six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The house was just renovate a year ago and there is now a newly built guesthouse with a kitchen, living room and a bedroom with a bathroom.

The couple bought the property in 2010 for $5.075 million.
