Racy Letters from Arthur Miller to Marilyn Monroe on Display

Arthur Miller Marilyn Monroe

Racy letters written by Marilyn Monroe’s third husband, playwright Arthur Miller, as well as other items, are on display at Newbridge-Silverware’s Museum of Style Icons, according to Yahoo News. Many of Marilyn’s private letters are on display and will then be auctioned in Hollywood after an exhibition in the Kildare museum.

In one letter, Miller writes, “I will kiss you and hold you close to me and sensational things will then happen. All sorts of slides, rollings, pitchings, rambunctiousness of every kind. And then I will sigh. And when you rest your head on my shoulder, slowly I will get HUNGRY.”

Wait…there’s more, he goes on, “I will come again to the kitchen, pretending you are not there and then discover you again. And as you stand there cooking breakfast, I will kiss your neck and your back, and the sweet cantaloupes of your rump and the backs of your knees and turn you about and kiss your breasts and the eggs will burn.”

In addition to the naughty missives, photographs and other personal items of Monroe that once belong to mentor and coach Lee Strasberg, will be on display.

Marie Brennan from Newbridge Silverware says the letters “have to be seen to be believed … It is one of the most exciting exhibitions ever to come to Ireland or Newbridge.”
