The result is a 73 inch tall 77 inch long exact replica  Kenneth Cole’s Otto Bootie. The previous record was set in 1996 by Edmund Kryza of Poland who created a shoe that is 44 inches high and 72 inches long.

When Martin approached Kenneth Cole, he was more than happy to participate, because the project would help market the Otto boot. Cole said, “This was our national ad shoe this season, so we figured we’d make an even bigger statement about it.”

Whether intending the pun or not, Cole described the project as a great feat, “Footwear in and of itself may be one of the most difficult products to bring to market and then to take and change its scale is an even bigger feat.”

Izquierdo Studio which makes props and costumes, constructed the shoe out of 6, 000 square feet of calves skin and hand cut foam. The shoe will be on display at Lord & Taylor’s flagship store.
