Israel’s TAT Technologies, a provider of services and products to the commercial and military aerospace and ground defense industries, has signed a seven year deal with America’s Republic Airways Holdings which could be worth more than $45 million.
Piedmont Aviation Component Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TAT, will provide the services including landing gear maintenance for Republic’s 160 strong fleet of Embraer E – 175 airplanes.
Indiana based Republic operates three regional airlines in the U.S.
Located in Gedera, Israel, TAT Technologies is a diversified technology-based engineering and industrial company specializing in design, development and manufacture of Heat Exchangers, Cooling Systems, Cold Plates, Vapor-Cycle Air Conditioning Systems (for both land and airborne applications) flow accessories, etc.
TAT’s President and CEO, Mr. Itsik Maaravi, commented on the new agreement: “We are proud of this new relationship between Republic and Piedmont. Additionally, this contract will position us as a world leading maintenance service provider for Embraer E – 170/190 Landing Gear as the fleet is just entering first wave of major overhaul requirements. Piedmont Aviation Component Services Inc., located in Kernersville (near Greensboro), North Carolina, is a wholly owned subsidiary of TAT. The company offers extensive component maintenance and overhaul capability for the commercial, regional, corporate and general aviation industry.
Piedmont is a FAA and EASA Part 145 Repair Station with nearly 60 years of experience in propeller and landing gear overhauls, and over 20 years of experience in Honeywell (auxiliary power units and related component overhauls. Piedmont’s Aviation Parts Services Division maintains a full complement of items, including Line Replaceable Units, Components and Piece Parts for Commercial, Regional, Corporate and General Aviation aircraft.
It employs about 120 people.
Mr. Itsik Maaravi was appointed President and CEO of TAT in January 2012, after serving as Piedmont’s CEO.
