Parties, campaigns and PACs had to meet their deadlines Saturday to disclose details from donations. Democrat and environmental activist, Tom Steyer, wrote a $15 million check in August to his green PAC NextGen Climate Action. The PAC has received a total of $26 million from Steyer’s personal funds, with its next most generous donor from Berkeley California, giving $2, 500. NextGen will provide funding for candidates who support environmental issues and green initiatives.
The Democrats are fighting with dollars to keep their Senate majority. Chicago billionaire Fred Eychaner gave $1 million to the Senate Majority PAC, making his total contribution $5 million. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has reportedly raised $38 million so far.
