Watch: Ralph Lauren 4-Story Tall Women on Wall of Water in Fashion Week

Ralph Lauren wall of water

Not interested in fashion? Well, this might grab you. In honor of Fashion Week, Ralph Lauren is ditching the old-fashioned runway for one projected onto a wall of water in Central Park. The way David Lauren of Ralph Lauren describes the show, it sounds like David Lynch talking about a new concept for visuals in a film, but it is going to happen live.

“You will see four-story fashion models walking across Central Park, and it’s on water projection, so it’s totally groundbreaking … The projections are a new kind of technology that allows the models to have holographic sensibility so you’ll be stunned to see these women sort of coming at you in three dimensions.”

“Technology is something everyone is so interested in, so we take what we love about fashion and marry that with the coolest technology, ” said Lauren.

Mitchell Silver, New York Parks Commissioner, is thrilled with the idea, and thinks it could be something to replicate in the future, “It’s something that I believe you can do in the future. I don’t know how long the technology works for the spray to be up there but certainly I think it has been tried in other places, and it’s something I think we can replicate in the future.”
