Leon Levine Foundation Donates $3 Million to North Carolina Hospital

Leon Levine Foundation

The Leon Levine Foundation announced a $3 million dollar donation to Carolinas HealthCare Foundation’s HealthCare System Behavioral Health Center in Davidson.

The foundation was started by North Carolina entrepreneur Leon Levine and his wife Sandra, and is being run by them and by the foundation’s board of directors.

The hospital will be named after Leon and Sandra Levines’ late daughter, Mindy Ellen, who passed away in 1988 at the age of just 25 after a long illness. The hospital will now be known as Mindy Ellen Levine Behavioral Health Center.

Hospital officials explained that the donation will be used “to support future facility enhancements, programmatic development, patient and staff education and clinical research projects.”
