Jerry Bruckheimer to Produce Comedic True Crime Show for ABC

"Transformers: Age Of Extinction" New York Premiere

“Awkward” creator Lauren Iungerich has an off-the-wall idea for ABC; mixing the true crime and comedy genres. It would certainly save viewers time having to watch both types of shows separately. Couch Detective will feature a woman in her thirties who manages to solve every crime based on hours digesting true crime dramas on television and her vast knowledge of reported and fictionalized police procedures.

Jerry Buckheimer and Jonathan Littman of Jerry Bruckheimer Productions will produce Couch Detective, and Iungerich will write the hour-long pilot for the series.
