New York Republican candidate for Congress, Bruce Blakeman, made a bold move to visit Israel as rockets were firing. He visited Jewish communities in Eastern Jerusalem and the Old City and spoke with residents about the realities they have been facing under fire. He rounded off his tour with a prayer at the Western Wall, or the Kotel.
Blakeman is running for New York’s 4th Congressional district in Central and Southern Nassau County, a district that has been represented by Democrat Carolyn McCarthy since 1997.

Blakeman has been busy in Israel and not just with tours. He proposed marriage to girlfriend and now fiancee Segal Magori in Gabriella’s kosher Italian restaurant in Israel. Blakeman previously was married to the current wife of Sir Paul McCartney, Nancy Shevell.
