David Schechter Taking Air Jordan III Off the Shelves

One of Air Jordan most popular models is about to be cut from production for good, according to Sole Collector. They quote Jordan Brand VP of Footwear David Schechter, who says Air Jordan III will be pulled off and no one knows at the moment when it will be back.

“The Air Jordan 3 is going back in the vault. The last color just dropped, ” Schechter said during a Friday night Jordan Brand event in NYC.

Schechter’s color that dropped reference is the “Sport Blue” IIIs, was released on August 16.

Schechter said the company wanted to “reset” the model Michael Jordan made so famous with his free-throw dunk in 1988.

He promised that when the sneakers return to the shelves, it will be a fully remastered product.

Jordan Brand’s spring 2015 lineup of remastered retros will include the “Oreo” IVs, “French Blue” VIIs, and an all-new colorways of the X.
