Women Vote! The PAC arm of the pro-choice group Emily’s list just received a $2 million donation from former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. While he has given a substantial amount in the past to the group, this is the largest donation  for the organization on record for Bloomberg, who has also been advocating in behalf of gun control and a crackdown on domestic violence.

Bloomberg has also donated significant sums to conservative causes, including the campaign of Mississippi Republican Senator Thad Cochran, who won by a hair’s breadth. Bloomberg has given over $11 million to PACs this election cycle.

Women Vote! Thanks to Bloomberg, a generous donation from the National Plumbers and Pipefitters union, Berkeley Professor Scott Shenker and others raised quadruple the amount it raised in June. In the past, the PAC has invested in 15 different political races on behalf of pro-choice candidates.
