5 Stocks to Watch: Applied Materials, Nordstrom, Apache


The following are 3 stocks to keep on the radar:

Applied Materials (AMAT) rose on its earnings, which showed positive sales and a raised outlook. Shares now sit at $22.48, and it trades at 4.18 points below its 52-week high.

Nordstrom (JWN) had its largest one-day drop in two years when it reported weak same store sales in a tough retail environment in which competitors are using promotions. The stock fell 5.21% to trade at $65.11.

Apache (APA) has made a the biggest oil discovery in Australia in 30 years. There may be as much as 300 million barrels of crude oil in the find which is off the coast of Western Australia. This is a boon to Apache whose stock rose 2% on the news.
