Adam Levine to Hot, New Wife: ‘It Was Always You’

Adam Levine Behati Prinsloo

The second single from Maroon 5’s soon to be published album, titled “It Was Always You, ” sounds like Adam Levine is serenading his new, extremely hot wife, Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo. At least that’s what E! writer Chima Simone says.

Chima is certain this is an ode by Levine, the band’s lead singer, to that gorgeous thing. Read these lines for yourselves, people: “Hazel eyes, I was so color blind / Can’t believe I couldn’t not see it all this time, all this time / It was always you…”

And in falsetto. What girl doesn’t melt when she hears this stuff in a voice that can make window cracks?

Chima continues to quote those divine lines like it was English class in a summer school for dropouts: “All my hidden desires finally came alive / With a different kind of feeling / Now I know that my heart wasn’t satisfied, satisfied / It was always you…”

Feeling a little weak in the knee region, right?

Levine is accompanied by PJ Morton, James Valentine, Mickey Madden, Matt Flynn and keyboard player Jesse Carmichael, who did not play in the band’s 2012 album Overexposed.

Here’s the tune. The official release date for the album is Sept. 2.
