Alamuddin is a London-based, Lebanese lawyer, an activist and an author, specializing in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition.

The “intimate dinner” (quotes in the original) at Barkin’s West 12th Street home included Clooney’s mother and sister, and Alamuddin’s mother.

Clooney and Alamuddin’s wedding will take place in September in Italy.

The Post said the couple is considering a palace in Venice that would allow their guests maximum privacy. The wedding, reportedly, is scheduled for exactly one year after George and Alamuddin met.

Barkin and Clooney starred in “Ocean’s Thirteen” together.

One particular incident was probably on everybody’s mind at the shower:

Back in 2006, when George Clooney accepted his American Cinematheque Award, the event tuened into a friendly roast, and the world will never forget the stunningly skinny Ellen Barkin, wrapped in a black gown with deep decolletage, who took the posium to declare: “I am the only actress willing to stand here and say, ‘I have fucked George Clooney.’ Did I get you there, George? I’m very proud of it. Chemistry has to do with having a great pitcher and catcher. He has one great fastball. If you don’t have chemistry with George Clooney, you need to check your pulse.”

Clooney later told Esquire: “Never . . . she’s a great friend.”
