The former star of NBC’s 1990’s popular sitcom “Blossom” joined the cast of the CBS Chuck Lorre hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory” in 2010, as the love interest (though the word “love” may be a bit of a stretch here) of the eccentric Dr. Sheldon Cooper. She has been nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award for her role as the geeky Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler twice already, with this nomination being the third, consecutive one.
Biggest competition: Allison Janney, the “West Wing” veteran (CJ), who is nominated for her role as a struggling alcoholic looking to reconnect with her daughter in the Chuck Lorre’s other hit CBS sitcom “Mom” (along with a second nomination, for her guest role as Margaret Scully in “Masters of Sex”).
