Kevin Godley recognized as being one of the most talented music producers in the UK for close to five decades has shown that he has the vision to move with the times, with the development of WholeWorldBand, an  iPad and iPhone compatible app, where it’s users can record music and video in a virtual studio without ever setting foot in the studio.

To push the WholeWorldBand project to the next stage, Godley has succeeded in raising €5 million  in Series A round funding for the project, with the funding led by Dermot Desmond’s International Investment & Underwriting  (IIU)  with  London-based Balderton Capital also taking part.

WholeWorldBand, founded in Dublin by Godley in 2008, not only come with the artist’s many years of experience in music production but also with knowledge of the intricate workings of the music industry as far as  digital rights management is concerned. The company’s system allows artists to be certain of getting a share of any income earned from their talents, by ensuring the setting up all of the required performance royalty contracts,

What is liable to make  using the WholeWorldBand at especially attractive to aspiring music stars  is the chance to take part in virtual collaboration with other  icons of the music industry in the UK, including Ronnie Wood  of the Rolling Stones,  Stewart Copeland of  The Police, Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart among a number of  others.

According to Godley those using the app are invited to imagine it  as taking part in their own multitrack music session, where you can record with anyone, anywhere,  going on to add that  the WholeWorldBand app has been specifically designed for ease of operation for everyone- from accomplished professionals to complete beginners. The concept has been designed to allow , musicians to work together to create songs and visuals using just the camera and microphone on their iOS device.

When completed they will then be rapidly able to share their video mixes directly to the waiting world on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

With fan-based music videos becoming more and more popular all the time , than the WholeWorldBand have created a considerable niche in the music industry in the five years that they have been in business, thanks to  their app not only being easy-to-use, but  also allowing  them to create videos featuring well know  artists who  want are willing to provide their support in creating  fan-generated versions of their music.

10CC Perform Live At Hilversum

Kevin Godley has-been around the UK and  international music scene for more than fifty years, best known by followers of pop music history by being a founder member of the  super successful pop group 10cc, alongside fellow Mancunians Lol Crème and Graham Gouldman.

After a string of chart hits during the late sixties and early seventies, the fortunes of 10cc began to gradually fade,  and Godley and Crème, who had produced most of the groups hits, turned their attentions to music production, which continued with great success until the late 1970s, after which they parted company and Godley went out on his own producing major hits for UK and international artists ranging from the late Frank Sinatra to Boyzone.
