Famous luxury fashion brand Gucci, part of the giant French Kering group controlled by the Pinault family, is going into the cosmetics business for the first time. In announcing the plan, which is getting ready for a launch in September, Gucci also revealed the “face” of the new cosmetics collection will be Monaco’s Princess Charlotte Casiraghi.The new Gucci Cosmetics collection will consist of products for the eyes, face, lips and nails, as well as “luxurious brushes and preparation products for skin., ” according to Gucci.
Princess Charlotte has already been a Gucci poster girl and, in addition, is the brand’s ambassador to the equestrian sort of show-jumping. That connection came about as both Princess Charlotte and Frida Giannini, Gucci’s Creative Director, are keen show jumpers themselves and became friends some time ago through their shared interest.

Frida Giannini even created some technically up-to-date, but still high-fashion, equestrian gear for for Casiraghi for the Global Champions Tour jumping event in 2010.Speaking of her new role for the cosmetics line, Giannini said, “Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman. Princess Charlotte said “I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these last four years and I’m excited to work with her again on this signature project. I have great admiration for her both as a designer and a strong and visionary woman.”Charlotte Casiraghi made her first official post-baby appearance at the Monaco Rose Ball at the end of March after giving birth to a son on December 27th, 2013. The new papa her partner, famous French comedian and actor, Gad Elmaleh predicted at the time Charlotte will be the “best mother in the world, ” adding, “Charlotte is very intelligent and has a great sense of humor … Charlotte will be the best mother in the world because she’s generous and loving. She has all the right qualities to be a good mother. I’m a very happy man. I’m so lucky to be with her and I’m at a point in my life where building a family is very important.”Managing fame, fortune, a career and family is called “having it all” and is never easy. So far Charlotte seems to be managing it all with aplomb.
