Sarah Silverman has never been afraid to take on an adventurous or raunchy role, and it looks like she will be doing both in the coming months, when she joins the cast of Masters of Sex, which stars both Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan in a true story of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, pioneering sex researchers of the Sixties and  Seventies.

Masters of Sex,   produced for the  American cable network Showtime, gained considerable critical approval during its first season, been recipients of both  Golden Globe and WGA nominations.

Sara also an  Emmy nominee  for ” The Sarah Silverman Program”, will be taking a guest slot in the role of Helen, as well as appearing on the big screen in “A Million Ways to Die in the West” alongside Seth MacFarlane, who also produced the movie.

To add to her work load, Sara will be making some entertainment history when she hosts a yet to be named variety comedy show pilot, which is being developed by the recently formed Xbox Entertainment Studios, in order to create its own original content. Until now Xbox users have only been able to stream television shows and movies through either Netflix and Hulu. However,  according to Jordan Levin, executive vice president of Xbox Entertainment Studios they will soon be watching original Xbox content, with Ms.  Silverman’s show being one of the first of more than a dozen  pencilled in  to go into  production for the company, sometime during the month of  June.

For Sara’s  project Xbox will be partnering with JASH, the online comedy network founded by Silverman, actor Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, better known as comedy duo Tim & Eric,  and another outrageous comedian Reggie Watts,

According to Levin, Microsoft has  enjoyed a long and rich legacy in producing content, online  games being produced for at least the last 15 years,   with creating original TV content being  the next logical  step in Xbox’s evolution.

In addition to the Sara’s  comedy show, Xbox Originals are also in the process of developing two projects based on the Halo games, a six-part documentary series, to be entitled “Signal to Noise” with plans in the pipeline to provide live coverage of events, with the first  being a live stream of the 13th Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival,  scheduled to take place in the middle of June, in  Manchester, Tennessee.

Sarah Silverman went on to attend New York University most building herself  a reputation as being a raucous stand up comedian on the   Greenwich Village comedy club circuit.

Sara first came to the public attention when she would make an occasional appearance on Saturday Night Live, coming from behind the scenes where she worked as a writer and producer. Her gift for comedy and wry sense of humor soon brought her own TV  show The Sarah Silverman Program, which ran from 2007 to 2010 on the Comedy Central Channel.
