Douglas found this out when appearing on the show “Finding Your Roots” with Henry Louis Gates Jr. The program tells people about their ancestry based on their DNA.

Michael Douglas’ father the actor Kirk Douglas was Jewish and Scarlett Johansson’s mother is Jewish. So, it is not surprising that they are distant cousins.
Michael Douglas was thrilled by the news saying, “Are you kidding? Oh, that’s amazing. All right. This is cool. This is so cool.”
“That’s incredible. Well, I look forward to seeing Scarlett next time,” he added.

This was done with the Batman Franchise in the movie “Batman Begins” and even with Start Trek and James Bond movies.
Meanwhile ScreenRant reported that this could delay the anticipated Tower of Terror adaptation from Disney indefinitely. The project is yet another based on a ride from Disneyland.
Scarlett Johannsson can next be seen – at least heard – voicing Anita Pallenberg in the documentary “Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg,” about the actress and singer.
