Loora is a new Israeli startup that is moving forward with generative AI tech, in spite of all of the controversies. To that end, Loora raised $12 million in a Series A round of funding led by QP Ventures.

Founded in 2020 by Roy Mor and Yonti Levin, “Loora is the first-ever personal AI English tutor.”

Do you want to learn English as a second language? Did you grow up in America and just get a bad education? Generative AI can now help you earn through an app.

Until now, those seeking to improve their English skills had to rely on expensive, one-on-one tutors with limited availability. To bridge this gap, says Loora, the company developed “the most advanced AI English tutor building a bespoke system of cutting-edge large language models, specifically trained and optimized to provide the best and most personalized experience for each learner.”

Generative AI, also known as generative artificial intelligence, is a burgeoning field with exciting possibilities. Generative AI creates new content, like text, images, music, audio, and videos. Imagine an AI artist that paints landscapes, a writer that crafts poems, or a musician that composes symphonies – all driven by algorithms.

These models learn from massive datasets of existing content, analyzing patterns and relationships. Based on this knowledge, they “imagine” new creations that mimic the styles and structures they’ve encountered.

“Gaining English fluency can drastically improve peoples’ prospects, whether they’re looking to advance in their professional or personal lives. We’re excited to have quickly built a reality in which Loora is utilizing AI for good, enabling our rapidly growing community of learners across the globe to improve their lives with this new technology,” said Roy Mor, CEO and Co-Founder of Loora. “Building AI that can guide and support learners throughout their journey to achieving English fluency in an effective, engaging, and personalized way is a significant technological endeavor.”
