Are you looking for just the right scent to make that certain someone go wild over you? Well, one expert says there are seven scents you should be trying out that can act as an aphrodisiac.

So, maybe you can now save money on all those fancy perfumes and colognes like Brute, Versace Eros, Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de l’Homme, Giorgio Armani, or even Old Spice.

The first scent to try is Ylang ylang, or cananga odorata. Ylang ylang, with its exotic name and intoxicating aroma, holds a vibrant presence in many worlds.

“A relaxing, floral scent, ylang ylang is said to aid relaxation and even enhance sexual desire,” Lee Howes said. “There’s a reason why in Indonesia they spread ylang ylang petals on the beds of newlyweds, and why this powerful fragrance is at the heart of our Sex Bomb range – jump in the tub with the bestselling bath bomb, spritz the body spray and treat your partner to a massage with the massage oil bar for a trio of sultry seduction!”

Then, of course, comes vanilla. If you have to ask…

Third on Howes’ list is sandalwood. The scent of sandalwood is truly captivating, weaving a complex tapestry of warm, woody, and slightly sweet notes that have charmed perfumers and wearers for centuries.

“Sandalwood is a much sought after fragrance material, forming a beautiful base to many fragrances, due to its ability to shift and change depending on the materials it’s paired with,” Howes noted.

Then comes spearmint, which is not just a gum flavor used for freshening your breath.

Fifth on the list is strawberries. Yes, strawberries. Who knew?

“Often representing Venus, the goddess of love, strawberries are juicy, fresh and entirely romantic,” Howes explained. “To bring scent into your home and keep things fruity, try the Va Va Voom Lush Melt. These melts can be used either as a home fragrance or bath melt.”

Violet comes in sixth on the list. Well, there’s no surprise here.

And last, but not least, is chocolate. Now, this one is strange because, let’s face it, what does chocolate even smell like?

But Howes says that, “Chocolate can feel luxurious, rich, decadent and warm. A faint aroma of warm chocolate on the skin is extremely inviting, drawing your loved one in.”

The best part about these scents is that you can put them together by yourself for little expense, thereby saving thousands a year on store bought fragrances. So don’t let the big perfume companies know about this.
