Israel continues its fight to destroy the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad in its Iron Swords War in Gaza. During the war, numerous leaders of the terrorist organizations were eliminated in IDF strikes.

In the latest such elimination of a terrorist leader, the IDF killed the head of the operational headquarters of the northern Gaza Strip and a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization Mamdoh Lulu.

Mamdoh Lulu, said the IDF, served as an assistant to the heads of the northern region of the Gaza Strip in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization and was in contact with senior officials of the organization’s headquarters abroad.

Lulu initiated and led numerous terror attacks and attacks from Gaza against the State of Israel, routinely and during the war.

Lulu was killed in an attack by an IDF aircraft, led by the Fire and Intelligence Center of the Southern Command and directed by the Shin Bet and the IDF’s Intelligence Division.

Islamic Jihad enacted the barbaric October 7 massacre in Israel together with Hamas and is said to hold a number of the Israeli hostages taken that day.

Thursday afternoon IDF fighter jets struck terrorist bases where Hezbollah terrorists operated in the area of Yaroun in Lebanon. Hezbollah has been firing rockets at Israel indiscriminately for the past three months, since the start of the war in Gaza.

Overnight, the IDF struck military infrastructure belonging to the Syrian Army in response to the launches toward Israeli territory. Syria has allowed terrorists affiliated with Iran to use its territory as a base of operations for attacks on Israel.

IDF naval forces and ground troops identified terrorists planting explosive devices along the coast of the Gaza Strip and inside compounds adjacent to the coast. The terrorist operatives planned to detonate these explosives in attacks on IDF troops. In joint operations, IDF naval, aerial, and ground forces targeted a number of the terrorists and neutralized the explosives.

Furthermore, IDF troops identified three terrorists in southern Gaza City entering a terrorist compound. An IDF fighter jet struck the compound and killed the terrorists. After the strike, secondary explosions were observed, indicating that large quantities of weapons were stored inside the compound.

In addition, IDF ground troops struck terrorist infrastructure that posed a threat to the soldiers. The troops, directed by IDF intelligence, also conducted a targeted raid on operational compounds where weapons were stored, and terrorist activities were directed, in Khan Yunis. Numerous weapons were located. During searches in the central Gaza Strip, a weapons production facility, launch pits and long-range rocket launchers were located. The launchers were dismantled by IDF engineering forces.

Two terrorists – one from Hamas and one from Islamic Jihad – investigated by Unit 504 of the IDF Intelligence Directorate reveal how Hamas exploits civilians and civilian areas in the Gaza Strip for its terrorist activity.

Zohadi Ali Zahadi Shahin – a Hamas operative in its Shati Battalion – admitted during interrogation that Hamas stopped Gazans who tried to move southwards to Rafah and transferred them to the Shifa Hospital. At the hospital, the terrorists stayed underground, but when they realized that the IDF was coming to the hospital, they went up to the ground floor where civilians were staying.
