Louis Farrakhan Actually Thinks He Was Defamed for Being Called an Anti-Semite, Sues ADL for $4.8 Billion

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is looking to have a $4.8 billion defamation lawsuit brought against it and the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) by none other than Louis Farrakhan dismissed. The Nation of Islam leader actually claims he was slandered by being called an anti-Semite by the organizations.

The idea that a man like Louis Farrakhan can claim that calling him an anti-Semite is slander is patently absurd. This is the man who once called Judaism a “gutter religion.”

He also once called Adolph Hitler a “great man.”

And even should he somehow convince a jury that he is not an anti-Semite and that he was actually defamed, any damages awarded would be based on harm done to Louis Farrakhan’s reputation. You are probably asking yourself right now, “what reputation.”

“This lawsuit is to ensure that the abuse, misuse, and false use of the terms ‘anti-Semite,’ ‘anti-Semitic,’ and ‘antisemitism,’ as falsely charged by the [ADL] is permanently barred from being a tool to defame [Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam] and stifle the exercise of constitutional rights,”

The ADL said of him, “For more than 30 years, Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI), has been a notable extremist figure, railing against Jews, white people and the LGBT community.”

Some other wonderful things he has said about Jews include:

“When you want something in this world, the Jew holds the door.”

“Satan is going down. Farrakhan has pulled the cover of the eyes of the Satanic Jew and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through.”

“The Jews were responsible for all of this filth and degenerate behavior that Hollywood is putting out: turning men into women, and women into men.”

“I don’t care what they put on me. The government is my enemy, the powerful Jews are my enemy.”

“Those who call themselves ‘Jews,” who are not really Jews, but are in fact Satan: You should learn to call them by their real name, ‘Satan;’ you are coming face-to-face with Satan, the Arch Deceiver, the enemy of God and the enemy of the Righteous.”

And yet, Louis Farrakhan thinks he has a case.

His lawsuit calls the ADL an “un-American organization” and actually makes classic ant-Semitic attacks about Jews controlling governments saying that it, “has woven itself into the fabric of both the United States government, in general, and into local governments within America, in particular, to advance interests that are un-American to the extent that it tramples and trammels upon the Constitutional rights of Minister Farrakhan and American citizens.”

“For over 40 years, the Defendants have falsely labeled Minister Farrakhan and the NOI as ‘anti-Semites,’ and as ‘anti-Semitic’ because of a difference in theological viewpoints, and for his pointing out misbehavior of some members of the Jewish community, among other things,” reads the suit.

Louis Farrakhan will have a really tough time proving the “falsely” part of that claim.

ADL Director Jonathan Greenblatt told the New York Post the suit “has no merit,” and that “Louis Farrakhan is an anti-Semite. One need look no further than his own words and statements to come away with the same conclusion.”
