The IDF released evidence of Hamas taking hostages to Shifa.

Hamas terrorists in Shifa Hospital (IDF)

Israel has released a great deal of evidence that the Shifa Hospital in Gaza was used by Hamas as a terror base and that some of the Israelis taken hostage in the October 7 attack were kept there, in its basement. And on Sunday, the IDF released security videos from the hospital showing terrorists bringing hostages there on the day of the attack.

Unfortunately, the media continues to describe this evidence as “Israeli claims,” as if it is not roof. Well, now a British doctor who worked at Shifa Hospital, and whose identity was withheld for his own protection, told the France24 news channel about the Hamas activities which he personally witnessed.

The doctor also said that the medical staff there was much more afraid of the Hamas terrorists than of getting hurt in an Israeli attack.

Specifically, the doctor talked about the basement where the IDF found weapons and other evidence that it was used as a terror base.

“When I was first asked to work there [Shifa hospital], I was told there was a part of the hospital I was not to go near, and if I did, I’d be in danger of being shot,” he said.

“I stayed away, but I saw a few dodgy-looking non-medical characters going in and out all the time. It was a ward leading to a basement. As I said I didn’t go there, so I behaved myself,” added the doctor.

The France 24 interviewer asked him, “Was it explained to you why that was?”

“No, but implicit was that it was being used for non-medical purposes,” he answered.

“And did you see anything non-medical or did you obey the instruction and stay away?” the interviewer asked.

“I stayed away, but I saw a few dodgy-looking non-medical characters going in and out all the time. It was a ward leading to a basement. As I said, I didn’t go there; so I behaved myself,” answered the doctor.

When told there could be many reasons for there being areas in the hospital that were restricted, the doctor said, “Well, I was welcome everywhere else, and as I say, the doctors and nurses there were very welcoming and very kind, and the hushed tones under which this was said were consistent with all the other hushed tones with which Hamas was discussed. You know, people were genuinely fearful.”

“I cannot emphasize too much the air of collective paranoia that existed there.”

As for the videos from Shifa Hospital released by the IDF, footage taken from security cameras there shows Hamas terrorists on Saturday, October 7, forcibly bringing hostages taken from Israel inside. The hostages seen include a Nepali citizen and a Thai citizen, who were kidnapped from Israeli territory, said the IDF. In addition, military vehicles that were taken from Israel on October 7 are seen inside the Shifa Hospital compound.

The videos were taken on October 7, 2023, between the hours of 10:42 and 11:01 a.m. Hostages taken from Israeli territory are seen in them surrounded by armed Hamas terrorists. One of them is injured and is being carried on a hospital bed and the other is walking.

While Hamas might say the hostages were only taken to the hospital for medical treatment, the fact is there are other medical facilities in Gaza located much closer to the border with Israel near where the attack took place. So, bringing hostages to Shifa shows that Hamas already had a base in the hospital.
