Jewish Students at Cornell University in Danger

What is happening at Cornell University is far from an isolated incident.

Cornell University is yet another Ivy League school where Jewish students are threatened by supporters of the terrorist Hamas organization. The school’s administration was forced to issue warnings to its Jewish students after threats against them were posted around campus on Sunday.

Martha E. Pollack, President of Cornell University which is located in northern New York State, issued a warning saying, “Threats of violence are absolutely intolerable, and we will work to ensure that the person or people who posted them are punished to the full extent of the law. Our immediate focus is on keeping the community safe; we will continue to prioritize that.”

The notification came after what was described as a “series of horrendous, antisemitic messages” that threatened acts of violence against Cornell’s Jewish community and specifically named the school’s 104 West — the home of the Center for Jewish Living —on a website unaffiliated with the university.

The school said that its Cornell Police (CUPD) are “on the scene and investigating” and that it will “continue to remain on site to ensure our students and community members are safe.” Cornell Police also notified the FBI of a potential hate crime.

“We will not tolerate antisemitism at Cornell,” the school’s president declared. “During my time as president, I have repeatedly denounced bigotry and hatred, both on and off our campus. The virulence and destructiveness of antisemitism is real and deeply impacting our Jewish students, faculty and staff, as well as the entire Cornell community.”

“This incident highlights the need to combat the forces that are dividing us and driving us toward hate,” she added. “This cannot be what defines us at Cornell.”

New York State’s Governor Kathy Hochul issued a statement saying, “The disgusting and hateful posts on a message board about Jewish Cornell students is the latest in a series of concerning incidents on college campuses. While it is unclear if these are credible threats, NY State Police is engaged and we’ll take any steps needed to keep students safe.”

The governor also said that she spoke with the leadership at the state’s public and private colleges alike and told them that the State Police and “the whole of state government will continue to support their efforts to keep their students and campus communities safe.”

All of this comes as campuses at other elite American Universities like Harvard and Yale have been overrun by protestors who seem to have no problem with how Hamas barbarically murdered entire families on October 7, including babies, and even burned people alive after tying them up. They also make declarations about how Israel should not even exist.

There have also been massive protests around the world in which participants called for the destruction of the State of Israel. So, what is happening at Cornell University is far from an isolated incident.
