Dave Portnoy just spent what was reported to be $42 Million on an estate in Nantucket, a record amount paid for a home on the island. Meanwhile, the Barstool Sports founder continues to mock the budding relationship between singer Taylor Swift and the NFL football player Travis Kelce, as well as his team the Kansas City Chiefs even as they continue to win games.
Dave Portnoy seems to be obsessed with Taylor Swift, posting multiple pictures of the singer at Sunday night’s Chiefs’ game vs. the New York Jets on his Twitter account.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce came out very publicly with their relationship when they were photographed together at a Chiefs game last week. At that time, Dave Portnoy tweeted that he does not like the match saying, “Just such a bizarre couple to me. Seems like zero chemistry but what do I know.”

The Kansas City Chiefs won the game, but failed to cover the spread – the number of points a team wins by – which means that people who bet on them still lost.
Dave Portnoy seems to think that the players should risk injuries and so on just to ensure covering the spread. He slammed Kansas quarterback Patrick Mahomes for “giving” himself up in a slide rather than continuing to run for more yards at one point furing the game. When a quarterback does this he cannot be tackled once he is on the ground. The rule is intended to protect players from injuries.
“GOOD LUCK EXPLAINING THAT TO TAYLOR (Swift) WHY YOU JUST SLID AND DIDNT TRY TO SCORE,” Dave Portnoy tweeted. “SHE THINKS YOU’RE A COWARD NOW!!!”
“I get that sliding was theoretically the right move by (Patrick) Mahomes,” he added. “BUT it’s not. Kansas is a legal gambling state. He let down all his fans. He stole money right out of their wallets. Now they can’t afford dinner. Disgustin.”
As for the new estate, it is located on Nantucket Island, the Nantucket Current reported that it includes two separate lots that have been developed as a single property – 72 and 68 Monomoy Road – and that fPoertnoy also paid $2 million for furniture in the home.
The property was designed by renowned architect Andrew Kotchen and landscape architect Miroslavam two professionals who are known for their innovative and stylish designs. The combined 1.2-acre property features a waterside main dwelling, a guesthouse, and a pool and the houses are connected by an underground tunnel.
