Dave Portnoy owns Barstool Sports, the company he founded, once again and now the mercurial businessman says he plans to deal with “traitors.” He recently bought back the firm for just $1 from Penn Entertainment, which had spent a total of $551 million in acquiring it.

So, what does he mean by that?

Well, Dave Portnoy thinks that some people did the wrong thing, in his opinion, during Penn Entertainment’s brief tenure as owner of Barstool Sports.

“[People] don’t know the things I haven’t talked about but will now,” Dave Portnoy told the New York Post. “Regulators. There are specific people by name that have done what I think is treacherous stuff that I haven’t mentioned. Barstool Sports book is still the name [on Penn’s gambling operations]. I will wait until that switches to ESPN and won’t cause problems for Penn at any level.”

“But those people will have their day in court. My court. The court of Portnoy,” he added.

Portnoy also said he thinks the business will turn around once he is back in charge. Apparently, during its brief time in ownership, Penn lost hundreds of millions of dollars. But Portnoy points out that Barstool Sports only ever made money when he was in charge.

As for his management style, Dave Portnoy told the Post, “I think I’m a pretty well-liked boss, even though I can be a jerk to people. I think people are invigorated. And I’m clearly invigorated.”
