Whatever will we do?

Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are still officially set to go head-to-head in a cage match at some point. But Zuckerberg is still waiting for Musk to confirm a date and Musk said he might need surgery before he can fight.

“I’m getting an MRI of my neck & upper back tomorrow,” Musk Tweeted Sunday night. “May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week.”

Oh no! Whatever will the world do should Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg need to cancel their cage match? Billions and billions pray the fight will still happen.

Elon Musk, however, has already promised that his fight with Mark Zuckerberg will be broadcast live on his social media platform X, you know, the one formerly called Twitter.

In a Tweet, or an X, or whatever we are supposed to call it now, Elon Musk wrote “Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X,” and added, “All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.”

Mark Zuckerberg was quick to take a hit at Twitter, now owned by Elon Musk, and promote Facebook’s new Threads social media messaging platform. In response to the idea that the fight would be live-streamed on Twitter, Zuckerberg wrote on Threads, or “Threaded” or, whatever, “Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?”

Mark Zuckerberg also commented on Threads, “I’m ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn’t confirmed. Not holding my breath. I love this sport and will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens here.”

In June, Meta/Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg unbelievably accepted a challenge to duel, of sorts, with Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter and founder of Tesla.

So, WTF! How did this all come about in the first place?

Well, Elon Musk was not happy to hear that Mark Zuckerberg was planning to have his Meta/Facebook business start its own messaging platform that would compete with Twitter. At one point, Musk said of the idea that Facebook wanted to expand into another area of social media by saying, “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options.”

So, Elon Musk, who claims to have been trained in Kyokushin karate, taekwondo, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, is ready for a fight. On Thursday he bragged on Twitter, “I have this great move that I call “The Walrus”, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”

And then…

You know what, it’s just not worth it.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg please just stop it already.
