Israel’s Voia and Skillset Make Small Raises

Skillset, an Israeli startup offering an online streaming platform currently under development, raised $1.65 million. And Voia, another Israeli startup that develops AI based technology the company says will enable anyone to produce Hollywood quality videos, raised $3 million in a pre-seed fundraise from private investors.

And this is exactly the reason why Hollywood actors are currently on strike. They fear that sometime soon AI will replace them. For now, the big stars have nothing to worry about. But soon there may no longer be a need for any extras, the people you see in movies and TV shows in the background who don’t have any lines. And the studios will offer all the other actors much less money because they will no longer need them to actually film every scene. Actors will only need to be filmed doing a few things and AI will do all the rest.

Founded in 2022 by Avner Braverman, formerly co-founder and CEO of Reshuffle, Mitch Singer, former CTO at Sony Pictures, Haim Helman, Noam Malali and Bryan Barber, formerly VP Digital Initiatives at Warner Bros, Voia boasts that its breakthrough AI renders creators inside stunning 3D virtual worlds, unleashing creativity and boosting engagement.

“We are at the forefront of AI. The challenges of achieving the Hollywood look using AI, require that we push the limits of our AI algorithms, and that we build a multidisciplinary product to enable creators to produce realistic visual effects,” said Noam Malali, co-founder and head of Voia. “We need to produce cinematic videos at near real time speeds, so that users don’t have to wait hours to see their final videos. We will continue to push the envelope of technologies that enable every creator to produce Hollywood quality.”

Co-founded in 2019 by brothers Noam Hachmon CEO, and Shabbi Hachmon COO, together with Idan Vered, Skillset says the firm is dedicated to giving young athletes and sports fans around the world access to affordable, high-quality lessons taught by top leading athletes in their respective fields. The company is currently producing courses with more than a dozen of the world’s top football players and are working on a similar number of courses for multiple additional sports fields.
