Donald Trump cronies Rudy Giuliani and Bernie Kerik are now at the center of the current investigation into allegations of election tampering being carried out by federal prosecutors in which the former President is the main target. Bernard Kerik, who was actually once pardoned by President Trump, is now cooperating with the authorities and turned over a massive trove of documents related to Rudy Giuliani’s part in efforts to overturn the 2020 victory of President Joe Biden.

Bernard Kerik once work for Rudy Giuliani when Kerik was the New York City Police Commissioner and Giuliani was the city’s mayor. But in 2009 Kerik was convicted on tax evasion charges stemming from money he received from Israeli billionaire Eitan Wertheimer. Kerik spent less than three years in jail and a decade later was pardoned by President Trump.

The word sycophant does not do justice to describing just how much Rudy Giuliani turned into Donald Trump’s lap dog. The man once hailed as “America’s Mayor” after how he showed strength and composure after the 9/11 attacks destroyed the World Trade Center in New York, and was even himself at one time seen as a possible leading presidential candidate, for some reason turned into Donald Trump’s errand boy.

Will anyone ever forget when Giuliani’s hair dye ran down his face under the sun at that absurd press conference he held where evidence of fraud in the 2020 elections was supposed to be revealed? And, of course, none was.

After claiming for some time that the documents he held were privileged, Bernard Kerik finally relented and turned them over to special counsel Jack Smith. The more than 2000 pages of documents reportedly include what could be used as evidence proving that Donald Trump knew that he really did lose the election. This is important because, should it come to a trial, Trump will not be able to claim that he truly believed there was election fraud.

The documents include evidence that Trump’s legal team proliferated false claims of voter fraud during the election. And they have also been turned over to two Georgia 2020 election workers who are suing Rudy Giuliani for defamation, alleging that he knowingly made false accusations against them.

The evidence in question could also be used by Georgia state prosecutors who are considering charging Donald Trump with local crimes for his attempts to overturn that state’s 2020 election results.

Donald Trump is now facing the possibility of four different criminal trials. Trump may be able to pardon himself should he win reelection in 2024, but he can only do that for a federal crime. The President of the United States has no authority over state prosecutions.
