Elbit Systems Cuts New $114 Million Deal

Elbit Systems was awarded a contract worth approximately $114 million with an Asian-Pacific country to supply two long-range patrol aircraft (LRPA) equipped with an advanced and comprehensive mission suite. The contract will be carried out over a period of five years. The nation in question was not identified.

Israel is known for its world-leading defense industries like Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Elbit and more. Just last month the Israel Ministry of Defense’s International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) inaugurated the Israeli national pavilion at the highly esteemed 2023 Paris Air Show with 17 Israeli defense industries. And last year was a record-breaking one for Israeli defense exports, (read Jewish Business News story here) which reached an unprecedented peak amounting to over $12.5 billion dollars in 2022, compared to $11.3 billion in 2021. Israeli defense exports have doubled in less than a decade and increased by 50% in 3 years.

The two LRPA aircraft will be based on new ATR 72-600 and Elbit Systems will integrate in each aircraft a mission suite that includes a Mission Management System, Electro-Optics, Radar, SIGINT, Communication and more.

ATR’s fuel burn advantage drives lower costs and emissions, making it the optimal aircraft for regional markets. Operating costs on competing regional jets are at least 45% higher.
