Israel’s Yopi Can Use Sweat to Monitor Your Health

Yopi

Yopi (Your Online Personal Instructor) is an Israeli startup that has developed a sweat analyzer that combines biosensors and AI algorithms the company says can track in real time a user’s health and wellness. The technology works through a wearable device that looks like a watch.

Founded in 2016 by Hemi Re’em and Dr. Menachem Genut, YOPI’s online system tracks a user’s real oxygen (VO2) consumption and Potassium (K) level online, which are directly associated with a heart disorder. This data is currently available only offline by variety of expensive labs tests. And that’s what Yopi is changing.

Call it sweat, or call it perspiration if you prefer, it’s the stuff we hate because it makes us all smell really bad. And we sweat a lot more in the heat. This is why there is a multi-billion worldwide industry for antiperspirants and deodorants. But the body needs to perspire in order to cool off. Just be sure to drink a lot of water when you do sweat a lot, or you will dehydrate and get sick.

But who knew that we could use sweat to get an indication about our own health. Yes other bodily fluids that we shall not name here can be tested to see if there is any sign of illness. But sweat?

Yopi boasts that is making significant advances in the field of wearable health monitoring. Their real-time sweat monitoring technology has the potential to revolutionize the way we track our fitness and health.

The ability to continuously monitor oxygen consumption is a major breakthrough, as it is a key indicator of cardiorespiratory fitness. This information can be used to assess overall health and fitness, as well as to track progress over time.

The fact that Yopi’s device is wearable and affordable makes it even more appealing. This means that it can be used by people of all fitness levels, regardless of their budget.

Yopi’s technology offers mproved fitness tracking- Yopi’s real-time sweat monitoring can provide valuable insights into a user’s fitness levels, helping them to track their progress and make informed decisions about their training.

It also offers early detection of health problems – Yopi’s technology can be used to track changes in a user’s sweat composition, which can be an early indicator of health problems such as diabetes or heart disease.

And then there is the ability to have remote patient monitoring, meaning doctors can follow a patient’s health in real time from somewhere else.

“The introduction of this system to the market represents a significant innovation in sports monitoring and heart health tracking. Just as heart rate monitors with chest straps were a revolutionary leap 20 years ago, YOPI’s system is a game-changer in real-time monitoring of physical activity and heart health,” said Dr. Dan Hadas, MD, Yopi’s medical director.
