Ivanka Trump has reportedly parted ways with the Trump family’s legal team and brought in her own counsel in the $250 million civil suit alleging fraud brought against the Donald Trump Family real estate businesses by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
So, maybe the former First Daughter in Law really is smarter than she seems. After all, it’s not like she did anything during her four years at the White House other than to promote her own fashion brand. Ivanka Trump certainly has no desire to get caught in the middle of Daddy Donald’s shady past business dealings and if recent history serves as any example it may not be so smart to share lawyers with your family in such matters.

According to a report in Forbes, Ivanka Trump has Bennet Moskowitz of the firm Troutman Pepper as her sole attorney on the case.

The move comes after, in March, one of Ivanka Trump’s previous attorneys wrote in a letter to the judge in the case, “The complaint does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed or certified any of her father’s financial statements. The complaint affirmatively alleges that other individuals were responsible for those tasks.”
In that vein, Ivanka Trump is trying to say that she was just a figurehead. In effect, she is admitting that she never really was such a great businesswoman after all and that all that talk from Daddy Donald Trump was just that and nothing more – talk.
